CFI-Funded Migration, Gender, and International Development Research Laboratory

In 2013, two members of the MER Centre – Victoria Esses and Bipasha Baruah – were awarded a CFI Grant and an ORF Grant totaling $362,948 (plus in-kind contributions) to build the Migration, Gender, and International Development Research Laboratory. This is a state-of-the-art facility including a secure data analysis and data storage suite, a remote interview data collection suite, a video and image production suite, and field data collection equipment. This facility enables members of the MER Centre to conduct high quality research and contribute to the training of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
